What is Office 365?
Infoxchange Australia is partnering with Microsoft to provide Office 365 to not-for-profit organisations.
Office 365 – is a set of cloud hosted messaging and collaboration solutions.
The suite includes Microsoft Office365 for email and calendaring; Microsoft SharePoint Online for portals and document sharing; and Lync for presence availability, instant messaging, peer to peer audio calls, and video conferencing.
Organisations can benefit from these tools without the headache of providing and maintaining their own servers in house. Staff with appropriate security permissions can have access from anywhere at anytime to email and documents.
Availability
Office 365 is hosted by Microsoft Online Services in the 'cloud' and is available to eligible not-for-profit organisations for a low ‘per user, per month’ fee.
What is the Cloud?
Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices on demand, reducing infrastructure requirements (reduced maintenance on servers) and costs associated with having the latest software.
