Allergies

Allergies, for example hay fever or certain itchy skin rashes, are treated with antihistamine tablets. Phenergan® promethazine, Zadine®, and the newer, less sedating drugs like Teldane® or Hismanal®, are examples. Drowsiness may occur with overdosage. Obvious causes of such allergies, for instance pets, foods or certain medications, must be avoided. In severe cases allergies may result in a life-threatening illness, including the need for urgent resuscitation.
