Responding effectively to the needs of
the homeless requires an understanding of the diverse backgrounds
from which the homeless originate. This very heterogeneous group
contains people from all ages and ethnic backgrounds, whose responses
to their circumstances and disabilities vary enormously. This
section contains information on some of the more marginalised
groups, as well as advice on communication with the homeless and
with health professionals.
