Digital Inclusion update

The ground breaking work conducted by A.T.Kearney which revealed a significant economic return on investment on Infoxchange Australia's digital inclusion initiatives was used in the development of recommendations of the recently released UK's Social Landlord and Digital Inclusion Strategy Group Action Plan. The task force composed of national and local government, the digital inclusion practitioners, the housing sector, third sector and private sector have developed the action plan to directly address the issue that 70% of Britons living in social housing are not online. The Action Plan recognises that tenants, landlords, the social housing sector, digital inclusion experts, Local Authorities and central government all need to play their part in addressing digital exclusion, which affects millions of social housing tenats in the UK. The Group will meet again in 2010 to focus on delivering components contained in the Recommendations of the Action Plan. Infoxchange applauds the forward thinking work and believes similar initiatives should be developed in Australia.
