Infoxchange Australia

Infoxchange is committed to making information and communications technology more  available to all Australians – including low income earners. We have been disappointed digital inclusion has not been an issue in the federal election campaign. And so we decided to send a survey to each member of Federal Parliament, in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Infoxchange Australia

There are five key actions that will assist community service organisations to deliver their missions and business plans using ICT.

Infoxchange Australia

Innovating for the future Creative Innovation 2010 is the place to learn from world changing innovators, futurists, inspired thinkers and curious souls gathered together in an interactive community.

Interpreters and translators from the Language Factory have been training and increasing their skills in order to assist public housing residents in many aspects of their lives.

Infoxchange Australia

The Infoxchange Australia team is very excited to launch InfoxchangeTV today. InfoxchangeTV is a niche video sharing service targeted at the Australian community sector.

Infoxchange Australia

Infoxchange Australia is on the verge of launching two new initiatives. InfoxchangeTV will be the first to be launched. It is a niche video news and information channel allowing people in the community to tell their stories and discuss their projects. The second initiative, an online journal that reflects the not-for-profit sector, will compliment InfoxchangeTV and will be launched later in the year.

What we do...

Infoxchange Australia

Infoxchange Australia is a not-for-profit community organisation based in Melbourne, Victoria with a mission to create social equality and opportunity by empowering people through access to information technology and enabling the exchange of information and ideas.

Digital Inclusion Initiative

What is Digital Inclusion?

The Digital Inclusion Initiative (DII) aims to ensure that people who are from a disadvantaged background have access to technology so that the digital divide, which is prevalent in our society, is minimised.

Our Digital Inclusion Projects

Wired Community @ Collingwood  and eACE (Atherton Gardens)

These projects have seen the wiring up of towers at the Collingwood and Atherton Gardens public housing estates, providing an internet connection in each flat and the creation of public computer hubs, creating a space for residents to come and learn to use the internet and access training services and then residents have access to the internet in their homes.

yarraReporter

yarraReporter was established as a capacity building and community engagement program that trains residents in the City of Yarra to become active citizen journalists and engage with multimedia. Workshops are held with participants actively participating in local events and reporting on issues that are important to them and their community.
Language Factory

Language Factory engages with residents from public housing and migrant communities who have particular language skills to be trained to become professional interpreters and translators.
