Infoxchange Australia

The Infoxchange Australia team is very excited to launch InfoxchangeTV today. InfoxchangeTV is a niche video sharing service targeted at the Australian community sector.

Infoxchange Australia

Infoxchange Australia is on the verge of launching two new initiatives. InfoxchangeTV will be the first to be launched. It is a niche video news and information channel allowing people in the community to tell their stories and discuss their projects. The second initiative, an online journal that reflects the not-for-profit sector, will compliment InfoxchangeTV and will be launched later in the year.

Annual reporting season is here

Community and not-for-profit organisations will, over the coming months, be required to compile their yearly activities and streamline this information into annual reports.

2010 Victorian of the Year

The very celebrated award of 2010 Victorian of the Year has gone to Stephanie Alexander in acknowledgment of her remarkable public and community service.

yarraReporter update

After a successful first week of yarraReporter training which included participants attending the Yarra Sustainability Awards in Fitzroy, we are pleased to have moved into the second week of training with a continued sense of enthusiasm.

DII on the national agenda

A recent opinion piece published in the Financial Review, “Computer skills build thriving communities” has called to attention the significance of digital inclusion in our society from both a social and economic perspective.

What we do...

Digital Inclusion Initiative

What is Digital Inclusion?

The Digital Inclusion Initiative (DII) aims to ensure that people who are from a disadvantaged background have access to technology so that the digital divide, which is prevalent in our society, is minimised.

Our Digital Inclusion Projects

Wired Community @ Collingwood  and eACE (Atherton Gardens)

These projects have seen the wiring up of towers at the Collingwood and Atherton Gardens public housing estates, providing an internet connection in each flat and the creation of public computer hubs, creating a space for residents to come and learn to use the internet and access training services and then residents have access to the internet in their homes.

yarraReporter

yarraReporter was established as a capacity building and community engagement program that trains residents in the City of Yarra to become active citizen journalists and engage with multimedia. Workshops are held with participants actively participating in local events and reporting on issues that are important to them and their community.
Language Factory

Language Factory engages with residents from public housing and migrant communities who have particular language skills to be trained to become professional interpreters and translators.
